A Local Authority in the East of England is looking to appoint an experienced Planning Technical Support / Validations Officer on an interim basis. This is a key opportunity to support the smooth processing of planning applications and appeals within a well-organised and professional planning service.

The Role

You'll be responsible for validating a wide range of planning applications and handling appeal registrations. The role requires regular use of planning systems such as Uniform and IDOX, and offers a hybrid working pattern - with just 1 day per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Validate the full suite of planning submissions (e.g. full, outline, reserved matters applications)

• Accurately register and process planning appeals in line with statutory requirements

• Use Uniform and IDOX systems to manage planning records and documentation

• Liaise with applicants and agents regarding submission requirements and follow-ups

• Provide administrative and technical support across the Development Management team

About You

• Experience working in planning technical support or validation within a local authority

• Strong familiarity with Uniform and IDOX systems

• Exceptional attention to detail and administrative accuracy

• Able to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines

• Strong communication and organisational skills
